Everyone needs to see what's on their network. It's simple and we've designed a better way to show you what's there. With Leanides Network Compass you can interact with the digital diagrams and see the network device data as it was when the diagram was drawn.
The Key Features of the Leanides Network Compass are:
The Leanides Network Compass is different to network backup systems that rely on a remote cloud to establish network connectivity for backups. A WAN link (Cloud) backup system is unreliable in a time of crisis, as it cannot be used until the WAN link is fully restored. This could result in large lag times for the restoration of service. The Leanides Network Compass has complete independence from the WAN and operates on a laptop with its own private cloud environment self contained on the laptop.
The Leanides backup module stores its own automatically drawn diagrams, complete with configuration data within its locally hosted virtual server. The software can backup and draw the LAN network devices of up to 20 sites.
With a local VM Server using the Leanides Network Compass it allows for the storage of thousands of network topology diagrams and their associated network device configurations.
The logical network topology diagrams that are automatically drawn are a complete blueprint of how the network is constructed. The data that the system collects and displays enables the user to fully reconstruct a network site with all the Cisco device interface connections fully labelled. This means that new equipment can be assembled from the diagrams at any location to reconstruct a network site. The topology diagrams drawn by the Leanides system are also printable to PDF or external printer.
An inventory of network devices is compiled when the network devices are discovered and when backups are done. Every site that is backed up has fully documented inventory data with the hostname, IP address, device model, image filename, OS Version and serial number. A search feature enables the location of any device to be determined from the backup data alone. The inventory management functions also generate Visio data tables that can be imported into Microsoft Visio to assist with the rapid preparation of Engineer prepared Visio diagrams.
The export of network configuration data and diagrams enables critical backup data to be stored safely offsite. The backup file of the network is automatically encrypted and can be sent to others for import and viewing in their software installation.
Backing up Network Data
It goes without saying that protecting your network device configurations is important. In order to do that effectively a strategy is required. Backups are the primary way to ensure the preservation of such critical data.
Most organizations will already have a network device config backup system in place and that's a good start.
However these days it's not enough to just rely on one backup system, as the cost and possibility of losing that data increases every year.
That's where Leanides steps in by making it possible to quickly build an independent backup system for your Cisco network devices on a laptop. It can be kept offline and used when needed which both preserves your network data and keeps it safe.
The Leanides Network Compass is rapidly deployable anywhere, without the need for complex and time-consuming configuration or self-programming playbooks. This means that you can walk into any organization that has Cisco devices, connect a laptop to the network and establish a same subnet IP configuration, enter the login username and password of the devices and start the auto device discovery process. Within minutes you have a backup of the network and a logical topology diagram of the network complete with audit data.
